DESCRIPTION:

The spectacular Godley Head Loop Track is undoubtedly one of the best hikes in Christchurch, this undulating track boasts breathtaking coastal views, historic landmarks from WW2, and quaint little beaches to boot.  You will look back over the water towards Christchurch City, taking in the beautiful Pegasus Bay stretching north, and the majestic Southern Alps beyond. Eastern Vistas include the serene Lyttelton harbour which nestles inside the Volcano Crater, and the wide open expanses of the wild Pacific Ocean and rugged coastline.

DISTANCE / ELEVATION:
The full-day walk is 8km, however our guides can adapt the duration of this walk so you can see the highlights, or spend a whole day enjoying all the area has to offer. Elevation gain is 320m / 1050 feet.

FITNESS LEVEL:
A beautifully maintained track suitable for low to moderate levels of fitness. There is some ascent and descent involved, and the track can occasionally be muddy. Please get in touch before the walk if you have any concerns as this can be adapted to suit.
