The perfect day out for families, including a guided Crater Rim Walk tailored to suit the pace of your group.  Whether it is a ferry ride, secluded beach, hill climb, crab hunt, or local swimming spot that excites the youngest members of your group, we have the ideal day for you.  Local knowledge tried and tested from our family to yours.

ITINERARY:

You will be picked up by your guide, who will entertain you with the history of Christchurch on the 30-minute drive to Sumner/Lyttelton where your walk will commence.  Hot drinks are provided at a local café before setting off along the coastal track. We have a selection of great options depending on how far you would like to walk, so your guide will be in touch to discuss and plan the perfect itinerary for you.  Picnic lunch is provided at a picturesque location along the way.  Total walking time can be anything from 1-3 hours, with plenty of time to stop for adventures along the way.  Return to Christchurch City with fantastic photos and memories of a special day out.

 

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:

• Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots (sneakers are fine but they must have good traction on them as the path can be slippery, especially after rain)

• Comfortable clothes depending on the season (shorts/leggings and a t-shirt)

• A warm layer of clothing and a jacket

• Sunblock and a sun hat

• Camera/phone

CANCELLATION POLICY:

This walk is scheduled 12-months of the year.  On days when the weather or track conditions prevent us from walking, we will try to reschedule, offer a wet weather alternative, or a refund less an administration fee. We require 48 hours notice for cancellation for bookings of 1 - 4 guests.  For group bookings of 5 or more, we require 7-days notice. If cancellation is made within this time frame you will receive a full refund less any expenses incurred.

CATERING:

We are happy to cater for special dietary requirements, let us know when you book. For lunch we generally provide roast vegetable frittata and coleslaw, if you have any specific requests please let us know in advance.
